LETTER: Gibson Will Lead With Thoughtful Integrity

Alicia Gibson works with intention, a critical eye and a positive outlook. Over the last two years, Aditi Jha and I have worked closely with Alicia through the Edina Asian American Alliance on a number of projects to support and empower the community, and have witnessed firsthand Alicia’s steadfast dedication to Edina and the health, safety and well-being of all Edina residents. She has a determination to strengthen civic engagement with local governance that she pursues through grassroots organizing and service with student clubs, community and neighborhood organizations.

Through this work, we have also experienced Alicia’s leadership firsthand. Alicia’s leadership means authentically engaging with those community members most highly impacted by a community issue, problem or question. Alicia’s leadership means closely reading documents, conducting thorough research and engaging in collaborative processes. Alicia’s leadership means a strategic plan, fiduciary responsibility and transparent communication. Alicia’s leadership means strength, vision and expertise.

As an Edina City Council member, Alicia Gibson will do the work. And she will do the work with care, rigor and with deep knowledge and respect for our governing institutions, all in partnership with and with accountability to our Edina residents.
