Dear fellow members of the Edina community,

I am writing to support Alicia Gibson’s candidacy for Edina’s city council and I hope to convince you to support her as well.

When I sat down and had coffee with Alicia, I was immediately impressed by her ability to discuss topics in a forthright way while also being solution-oriented.

​

We talked about the need to reduce the tax burden on residents and increase governmental fiscal transparency during these difficult economic times, including when it makes sense to cut spending and when to invest taxpayer dollars.

We talked about her vision for the future of Edina, including how important it is to reuse or redevelop our city’s empty commercial buildings as our population density grows and the demand for public services increases.

We also spoke about the need to attract and cultivate scalable businesses that will help grow Edina’s economy, bring in highly skilled talent and allow for our community to thrive in this emerging AI-centric world.

I believe she is someone who wants to address these things while also keeping Edina a top-notch place to raise a family, to work or commute from and to enjoy as a resident. She seems like a pragmatic, direct problem-solver, and in a time where people rarely say what they mean or mean what they say, that, in and of itself, is refreshing.
